Parts of Joburg’s Rea Vaya expansion to be completed by mid-2025

# The City of Johannesburg plans to complete the first stage of Rea Vaya’s phase 1C by the middle of this year. Over 1.5-billion-rand has been spent on this phase, which will operate from the inner city through Hillbrow, Yeoville, Orange Grove, Bramley, and Wynberg to Alexandra and Sandton. DA councillor and former chairperson of the Transport oversight committee, Tyrell Meyers, told BusinessTech, that a primary reason for delays was the difficult negotiations with taxi associations. He adds that delays also stemmed from construction-related problems.
