# Gauteng police arrested one-thousand-567 suspects as part of Operation Shanela in five districts over the weekend. The suspects were apprehended for various crimes, including dealing in drugs, possession of stolen property, contravening the Immigration Act and driving under the influence of alcohol. Police spokesperson, Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi, says among the total arrests, one-thousand-378 were wanted suspects linked to serious and violent crimes such as murder, attempted murder, assault with intent to cause bodily harm, rape, and robberies:
