OUTA says Parliament’s weak oversight fuels corruption and puts citizens’ rights at risk

# The Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse says accountability is a human right, and Parliament must protect it through stronger oversight, while the government must be held accountable for spending and service delivery. According to the organisation, weak oversight leads to poor governance, corruption and failing public services that directly affect people’s rights in areas such as education, healthcare and economic opportunity. OUTA’s Rachel Fischer says effective parliamentary scrutiny is essential to protect citizens’ rights and improve accountability in government.
