# Gauteng police and the South African National Defence Force have arrested 121 suspected illegal miners during Operation Prosper in Fochville, Gauteng. The operation was carried out with the Department of Home Affairs and mining company Sibanye-Stillwater’s security team. Police spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi says the operation is part of ongoing efforts to tackle illegal mining and related criminal activity in the province:
