NSMSA condemns SAPS withdrawal of GBV cases [SOUND]

# The National Shelter Movement of South Africa condemns the ongoing practice by some police officials of encouraging or permitting the withdrawal of gender-based violence and femicide cases. A Human Sciences Research Council report has revealed that 33.1-percent of women aged 18 and older have endured physical violence in their lifetime. NSMSA’s Anisa Moosa says they are calling for urgent national action to prohibit police-facilitated withdrawals of GBVF cases at the station level, unless reviewed by a court:
