NPA does not oppose release of a suspect accused of murdering a Cape Town traffic officer [SOUND]

# The City of Cape Town has noted the decision by the state not to oppose the release of the suspect accused of murdering Traffic Services officer Walton Van Rooyen. Craig De Lilly made his first court appearance on Monday after being re-arrested over the weekend. Mayoral committee member for Safety and Security, JP Smith, says Van Rooyen was shot and killed in his patrol car in March 2020, after arresting De Lilly, a taxi driver, for a traffic violation:
