# The Bela Bela Magistrate’s Court in Limpopo has granted bail to two of the three accused in president Cyril Ramaphosa’s Phala Phala game farm theft. Former cleaner Froliana Joseph and her brother, David Joseph, secured bail amounts of five-thousand-rand and ten-thousand-rand respectively. The State did not oppose their release. The siblings, along with Imanuwela David, allegedly stole 10.6-million-rand from the farm in 2020. The charges against them involve multiple counts of housebreaking and theft.
# Sixty-five people charged in connection with the July 2021 unrest and public violence in KwaZulu-Natal have been served with indictments. The National Prosecuting Authority’s regional spokesperson, Natasha Ramkisson-Kara, says the charges include conspiracy to commit public violence, incitement to commit public violence, terrorism, sedition, and conspiracy to commit murder. She says the accused remain out on bail:

# Woolworths has removed a single Israeli product from its shelves, citing threats. The move follows pressure from political and civil groups urging the retailer to cease Israeli product sales. While asserting no political alignment, Woolworths stated that the removal aimed to safeguard staff and customers. The retailer clarified it has not withdrawn all Israeli products, cautioning against misinformation.
# An American was executed for the murder of a toddler in 2001. David Renteria kidnapped five-year-old Alexandra Flores from a mall while the family were doing Christmas shopping. He strangled her, and her burnt body was found in an alley the next day. Renteria asked the family for forgiveness before he entered the death chamber, saying he was sorry for all the wrongs he had done. He was given a lethal injection after the US Supreme Court declined two separate defence requests for a stay, hours before his execution.
# Boxing: Tyson Fury will take on Oleksandr Usyk in Saudi Arabia on 17 February. The winner will be crowned the first undisputed heavyweight champion in the four-belt era. Thirty-six-year-old Usyk from Ukraine is the WBA, WBO and IBF champion with Briton’s 35-year old Fury holding the WBC belt. Both men are undefeated. Fury says it will be a massive unification bout:
