# Build One South Africa’s leader, Mmusi Maimane, insists that current coalition talks should be termed a grand coalition between the ANC, the DA, and the IFP, and not a government of national unity. Maimane highlights that no party holds an outright majority in the National Assembly. He stresses the importance of equal representation in Parliament and a strong opposition ensuring government is held accountable.
# The initial cost estimates of the devastating storms in KwaZulu-Natal have exceeded 1.3-billion-rand, with eThekwini Metro accounting for over 480-million-rand. Over seven-thousand households, 20 schools, and significant infrastructure have been affected. The provincial Cooperative Governance Department’s Sboniso Mngadi says relief efforts include the delivery of building material, mobile offices for identity document replacement, and SASSA support with food vouchers, mattresses, and blankets:

Fraudsters reportedly amend login and banking details to submit fraudulent VAT returns, diverting funds to their accounts. Experts warn that taxpayers are accountable if fraud originates within their company. Taxpayers are urged to protect their information to prevent such incidents. The South African Revenue Services prioritises system security and investigates fraud on a case-by-case basis.
# MultiChoice Namibia has launched Partners Against Piracy in Windhoek. This partnership, involving the Namibian Film Commission, the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology and other stakeholders, aims to protect the creative industry through copyright and intellectual property awareness. Managing director Roger Gertze urged Namibians to avoid downloading pirated content, emphasising the initiative’s goal to grow and attract investment in the creative sector:
# Golf: Young American Jackson Suber gets his chance to play in the US Open at Pinehurst from tomorrow following the withdrawal of Spain’s Jon Rahm.
