# BOSA urges police to escalate the investigation into the killings in Kempton Park, Gauteng

# Build One South Africa calls for the immediate escalation of the investigation into the deaths of five women whose bodies were discovered in and around Kempton Park in Gauteng in the last two months. BOSA spokesperson Graham Charters says police must apply its policy on serial murders and review all five cases for forensic and investigative links. He says the deaths must not be treated as isolated cases:

# Citizens and Activists Forum calls for the dismissal of Water and Sanitation minister Pemmy Majodina and Johannesburg mayor Dada Morero following allegations of abusive conduct at community meetings. Spokesperson Dennis Bloem says Morero reportedly insulted a Soweto resident, while Majodina is accused of shouting and using vulgar language towards a disabled resident. He says president Cyril Ramaphosa described the behaviour as unacceptable, and calls for immediate intervention:

# The GOOD Party has welcomed the decision by the Western Cape legislature’s appeals committee to set aside findings against the party’s secretary-general, Brett Herron. This related to a statement Herron made about the conduct of DA member Ian Cameron in August 2025. A vehicle carrying three DA members of Parliament came under attack in Philippi, Cape Town, during oversight work. Herron says Cameron reportedly drew and used his firearm:

# The South African Weather Service issued a Yellow Level 4 warning for disruptive rainfall over parts of the Western Cape and Northern Cape. A cut-off low pressure system is expected to bring scattered showers and thundershowers, with rainfall of between 25- and 80-millimetres. The Weather Service warns of possible flooding of roads and settlements, closure of mountain passes and bridges, and major traffic disruptions, and warn motorists to exercise caution.

# Rugby: The Springboks were overwhelmed by the support they got in America, where they clinched the Rugby Greatest Rivalry against the All Blacks in Baltimore. Over 68-thousand spectators packed the M&T Bank Stadium to watch South Africa beat New Zealand 43-28 to win the series 3-1. Earlier, the Boks received a warm welcome at the airport and were stopped by many an adoring fan in the city. Coach Rassie Erasmus hopes the experience will expand the game in the US, which will host the World Cup in 2031.

# And the financial indicators: The dollar trades at 16-rand-22-cents and the euro at 18-rand-73-cents. One British pound costs 21-rand-88-cents and Bitcoin trades at 77-thousand-870-dollars. Gold sells at four-thousand-295-dollars-86-cents a fine ounce and Brent crude oil is quoted at 109-dollars-60-cents a barrel.
