# The Freedom Front Plus has welcomed the demand by the Pan South African Language Board that the Legal Practice Council should revoke its decision to no longer offer entrance examinations for attorneys, notaries and conveyancers in Afrikaans. The FF Plus’ Jaco Mulder says the council announced at the end of last year that from this year onwards, all entrance examinations will be offered in English only, in line with its new language policy that was adopted in November last year:
# The GOOD Party in Western Cape says mountains of garbage and waste continue to pile up around Cape Town’s informal settlements while the city drags its feet in taking action. The party recently wrote to mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis to demand the immediate suspension of mayoral committee member Grant Twigg for his role in the collapse of waste collection services. The GOOD Party’s Lulama Benge says not only has no one been held accountable, but the city is also clearly in no rush to address the filthy consequences of this failure.
# Rugby: Stormers head coach John Dobson has heaped praise on his Springbok flyhalf, Manie Libbok, who is playing his 50th match for the team today. The Cape outfit takes on Stade Francais in Paris in a Champions Cup match this evening. Dobson says Libbok has been a revelation since joining in 2021 and seems to get better and better. Dobson made several changes to the team that beat Sale Sharks last week, saying they face tough opposition in challenging conditions and will have to step up.

He will face Sean Strickland for the middleweight Ultimate Fighter Championship in Toronto, Canada, at 5 AM. It is Du Plessis’ first title fight in the UFC and his American opponent is the defending champion. The Pretoria fighter is undefeated since he stepped into the octagon for the first time at the UFC in October 2020.

The bursaries include tuition fees, accommodation, textbooks, stationery, medical expenses and a student allowance for the successful duration of their courses.
