# National Coloured Congress leader Fadiel Adams says South Africa’s coloured community remains marginalised and economically excluded. Speaking to the SABC ahead of next week’s local government elections, Adams criticised the ANC and the DA in the Western Cape, stating employment policies have limited opportunities for coloured youth, while communities face gang violence, housing shortages and inadequate services. The ANC has meanwhile warned the public against a fraudulent message claiming to offer an instant 300-rand as part of its election campaign. It also cautions people against sharing their identity numbers, banking details, card information, passwords or one-time PINs. The ANC has condemned the abuse of its name to exploit the public through false promises.

He secured an unprecedented, non-consecutive fourth term after winning a closely contested runoff election against right-wing senator Flávio Bolsonaro.
