# ActionSA demands the former Road Accident Fund CEO be prosecuted for defying a parliamentary summons
# Italy’s Parliament has formally added the crime of femicide to its criminal code
# And cricket: South Africa secures its first Test series victory on Indian soil in 25 years
# ActionSA is calling for the immediate criminal prosecution of former Road Accident Fund CEO Collins Letsoalo. This comes after he ignored a subpoena to appear before Parliament’s standing committee on Public Accounts, which is investigating deep-seated financial mismanagement at the RAF. ActionSA’s spokesperson, Matthew George, says Letsoalo’s decision to defy the subpoena represents not only a personal repudiation of accountability, but an attack on Parliament’s constitutional authority:
# The ANC says South Africa cannot fully realise the values of the Freedom Charter nor consolidate its democratic gains while women, children, and vulnerable persons continue to live under threat. The 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children is currently being observed until December 10. ANC spokesperson, Mahlengi Bhengu, says they are calling on society to intensify efforts to strengthen prevention, support survivors, and ensure accessible justice and psychosocial services for those affected:
Meanwhile, Italy’s Parliament has voted unanimously to approve a new law that makes femicide a crime to be punished with life imprisonment. Last year, the country recorded 106 femicides, 62 of which were committed by a partner or former partner. Italian prime minister Giorgia Meloni described the approval of the new law as a sign of political cohesion against the barbaric nature of violence against women. Italy now joins Cyprus, Malta, and Croatia as European Union member states that have introduced a legal definition of femicide in their criminal codes.
# Cricket: Reigning ICC World Test Champions, South Africa, has defeated India by a massive 408 runs to secure their first series victory on Indian soil in 25 years. Simon Harmer claimed six wickets as the hosts were bowled out for 140 in their second innings of the second and final Test. The Proteas posted 489 in their first innings with Senuran Muthusamy scoring 109. In reply, India were bowled out for 201 with Marco Jansen taking six wickets. In their second innings, South Africa declared on 260 for five.

# And finally: A woman brought in for cremation at a Thai temple was found alive in her coffin. The 65-year-old had been taken to a Buddhist temple on the outskirts of Bangkok after she appeared to stop breathing two days earlier. Her family had travelled hundreds of kilometres with her body and were preparing for the cremation, but moments before the service began the shocked temple manager heard a faint knock from inside the coffin. The woman was treated before being released back to her brother.
