# The Activists and Citizens Forum says Higher Education, Science and Technology minister, Blade Nzimande is always embroiled in corruption allegations, and his name always cropped up. The Forum says Nzimande always plays victim, but he must not undermine the intelligence of the people of the country. It is calling upon the minister to resign from his position. The Activists and Citizens Forum spokesperson, Dennis Bloem, says if that does not happen, president Cyril Ramaphosa must fire him:
# The Marshalltown Fire Justice Campaign is extremely concerned by the disastrous flooding of Denver and other informal settlements across the City of Johannesburg. The survivors of the Marshalltown Fire, which claimed the lives of 77 people and injured many more, are facing yet another tragedy. They were relocated to Denver informal settlements, where they are now affected by floods. The campaign leader, Mametlwe Sebei, is demanding that City officials be held accountable for what they call, the inhumane treatment of people:
# Two medical aid groups on Sunday announced their withdrawal from a central Gaza hospital, citing increased Israeli military activity in the area. The International Rescue Committee in a statement said its emergency medical team was forced to withdraw from Al Aqsa Hospital in the city of Deir al-Balah, after the Israeli military dropped flyers on central Gaza ordering Palestinians to evacuate to shelters in the area. Medical Aid for Palestinians also said it was withdrawing from Al Aqsa hospital. It comes after Doctors Without Borders on Saturday said it would evacuate its staff and their families from the facility.
# Soccer: Liverpool struck twice late on to beat Arsenal 2-0 at Emirates Stadium and reached the FA Cup fourth round. Arsenal paid the price for missing a host of opportunities and were punished as Liverpool grew increasingly dangerous. Their triumph was completed in the closing seconds when Luis Diaz scored with a kick high past Arsenal’s goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale. Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp expressed his satisfaction with his team:
# The financial indicators: The dollar trades at 18-rand-75-cents and the euro at 20-rand-53-cents. One British pound costs 23-rand-84-cents and Bitcoin trades at 44-thousand-21-dollars-61-cents. Gold sells at two-thousand-and-30-dollars-73-cents a fine ounce and Brent crude oil is quoted at 77-dollars-77-cents a barrel.
