# EFF leader Julius Malema says the party’s members in the National Assembly will ensure the institution is functional. He adds they don’t plan to fight with Parliament’s bouncers and will be the best opposition. Malema was nominated to contest the position of president but only received 44 votes against 283 for president Cyril Ramaphosa. The EFF leader congratulated Ramaphosa on his re-election:

Sixth-ranked Aberg fired a one-under par 69 to finish 36 holes on five-under 135. World number three Roy McIlroy stood sixth on 137 after struggling to a 74, but pre-Open favourite Scheffler is in real danger of missing the cut after carding a 74 to stand on five-over 145.
# And, Eskom says load-shedding remains suspended until further notice, due to the continued improvement in the reliability and stability of the generation coal fleet. Eskom’s spokesperson, Daphne Mokwena, says load-shedding has now been suspended for 80 consecutive days. Eskom’s generation performance continues to surpass the winter forecast and the current unplanned outages average stands at 12-thousand-megawatts:
