# Police have confirmed that the two Bondi Beach attackers were a 50-year-old and a 24-year-old father and son. At least 15 people, including a ten-year-old girl, were shot dead when the two suspects targeted Jewish Australians at an event in Sydney to celebrate the first day of Hanukkah yesterday. The father was shot and killed by police at the scene, and his son remains in a critical condition in the hospital. New South Wales Police Commissioner, Mal Lanyon, says they are not looking for a third offender:
The Freedom Front Plus has meanwhile condemned the terror attack at Bondi Beach. FF Plus leader Corne Mulder says the attack is not only an assault on the Jewish community, but also on a global value system grounded in freedom, democracy and human rights. He adds that a major cause of concern is the growing influence of radical elements worldwide.
# The National Energy Regulator of South Africa has confirmed the process and timelines for the submission and approval of electricity tariff applications for the 2026/2027 financial year. This follows a workshop with licenced distributors and municipalities, shaped by the North Gauteng High Court judgment, which introduced revised and binding deadlines for tariffs. Nersa’s Poppie Mahlangu says all licensed distributors are required to submit their applications by 20 March 2026:
