# The GOOD Party says it is unfortunate that US president Donald Trump announced not to be represented at the G20 Leaders’ Summit when South Africa will handover the presidency of the G20 to the United States. The ANC meanwhile condemns what it calls the false, inflammatory, and racially charged remarks made by U.S. President Donald Trump about South Africa. ANC spokesperson, Mahlengi Bhengu says his unfounded claims of genocide and persecution of white South Africans, together with his boycott of the upcoming G20 Leaders’ Summit in Johannesburg, are part of a long and disgraceful pattern of imperial arrogance and disinformation. She says these statements are deliberate attempts to distort the reality of South Africa’s democracy and to mobilise racial fear for political gain in the United States.
# Gauteng Department of Community Safety has applauded the coordinated efforts among the law enforcement agencies in the province. Four suspects were fatally wounded and one was arrested during a shootout with police on the R25 road in Bronkhorstspruit, Tshwane over the weekend. # COSATU is urging government to table a bold Medium-Term Budget Policy Statement signaling a progressive shift away from the devastating austerity budget cuts that have badly weakened public and municipal services. Finance minister Enoch Godongwana is expected to table the Medium-Term Budget in Parliament on Wednesday.
