# MK party leader and former president Jacob Zuma is confident expelled party founder Jabulani Khumalo will be excluded from their parliamentary list. Speaking to EWN, Zuma emphasised they have requested secretary to Parliament, Xolile George, to remove Khumalo from their list due to rogue activities. He insists Khumalo will not be a member of Parliament as he is not a member of the party:
Meanwhule, the EFF member of Parliament Busisiwe Mkhwebane supports a government of national unity to enforce party manifestos. Speaking on an EFF podcast, Mhkwebane emphasised that South African voices should be heard despite election irregularities. She believes power-sharing in the new government should prioritise the interests of South Africans, aiming to lift the masses out of poverty:
# The United Nations has added the Israeli military to a list of offenders failing to protect children. Prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu reacted by saying the UN had added itself to the “blacklist of history” and that the Israeli military was the “most moral army in the world”. A spokesperson for the Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas told Reuters the decision was a step closer to holding Israel accountable. Thousands of children have been killed in Israel’s campaign against Hamas in Gaza, and thousands more are in desperate need of humanitarian assistance.
# Soccer: Themba Zwane’s strike in the 29th minute helped Bafana Banafa to a 1-all draw with Nigeria in their World Cup Group C match in Uyo last night. But the South Africans couldn’t follow through as the Super Eagles found an equaliser in the second half. South Africa remain fourth in the standings and Nigeria fifth in the group. Bafana returns home to face Zimbabwe in Bloemfontein on Tuesday. Only the group winners secure automatic qualification for the 2026 Fifa World Cup.
# And, a group of 32 monkeys drowned in a well in India after extreme temperatures drove them on a desperate search for water. Local forest officials say the monkeys were found dead in an irrigation well in Jharkhand state. No foul play is suspected in their deaths. Wild animals have been making their way into villages throughout the heatwave. Several jackals also died after falling into a well while searching for water a few days ago.
