# South Africa has welcomed International Criminal Court chief prosecutor Karim Khan’s application for arrest warrants for Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, his Defence minister Yoav Gallant, and three leaders of Hamas. The arrest warrants are for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity. President Cyril Ramaphosa’s spokesperson, Vincent Magwenya, says the law must be applied equally to all to uphold the international rule of law and ensure accountability for those who commit heinous crimes:
Meanwhile, Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu has condemned the application to seek his arrest as an absurd and false order. Netanyahu says Khan’s actions are merely an attempt to deny Israel the basic right of self-defence:
# MK Party founder Jabulani Khumalo has approached the Electoral Court on an urgent basis. He is requesting that the Electoral Commission’s decision to remove him and record former president Jacob Zuma as president of the party be declared invalid, unlawful, and set aside. He also wants the court to order the IEC to record him as president of the party. Khumalo says Zuma made two distinct, unlawful, and procedural decisions, which were unilaterally to remove him as president and terminate his party membership.
# ActionSA president Herman Mashaba together with Tshwane deputy mayor Nasiphi Moya, will today be presenting a progress report on the bid to end the Hammanskraal water crisis. This follows substantial advancements made at the Rooiwal Water Waste Treatment Plant. ActionSA’s, Malaika Ditabo, says the party has championed the Hammanskraal water issue, instituting its own water inquiry to independently verify the quality of water residents received:
# Soccer: Liverpool has appointed Arne Slot as their new head coach on a three-year contract.
