# Preliminary national results from a short while ago had the ANC leading with 41.7-percent. The DA followed with 22.44-percent while the MK party was on 12.38-percent. The EFF and the IFP are among the top five nationally, with 9.47- and 3.16-percent respectively. The MK Party still has a big lead in KZN with 43.84-percent followed by the IFP at 18.21-percent with the ANC now third with 18.04-percent. In the Western Cape the DA is heading to victory with 55.05-percent followed by the ANC at 18.91-percent. In Gauteng the ANC is still in the lead with 33.61-percent and the DA at 28.64-percent.
# The Electoral Commission has reassured the public that a recent system glitch did not impact the progress of capturing election results. The glitch affecting leaderboards and the website did not compromise data, as ballots were transparently counted at voting stations. The commission confirms the full election results will be released during the weekend. Addressing the media, Chief Electoral Officer Sy Mamabolo says progress in capturing results remains on track, with significant completion percentages across provinces:
# And finally: ActionSA president Herman Mashaba says the party remains resolute in fighting corruption, upholding the rule of law, and protecting borders. He also highlighted the need to protect the country’s sovereignty, stating that South Africa must remain vigilant against illegal immigration and criminal activities. Speaking at the results centre in Midrand, Mashaba called for strong enforcement agencies free from political interference, as corruption undermines independent institutions:
