# The South African Artificial Intelligence Association and the Western Cape government have launched a new provincial artificial intelligence cluster to grow the AI sector in the province. The initiative will focus on AI policy, governance and infrastructure and aims to strengthen innovation, attract investment, and create jobs over the next three-years. The association’s Nick Bradshaw says the project will also focus on responsible AI and position the province as a global tech hub. A major AI conference is planned for Cape Town this year.
