# The City of Cape Town says MyCiTi fares are highly likely to increase from July due to high diesel price. Since March this year, the city has been absorbing diesel price increases on behalf of MyCiTi commuters, and will continue to do so through June. Mayoral committee member for Mobility, Rob Quintas, says as soon as national government confirms the diesel price in June, they will give commuters the exact figure:
