# Water and Sanitation minister, Pemmy Majodina, has welcomed the efforts by iLembe District Municipality in KwaZulu-Natal to expand access to reliable and sustainable water supply to communities that have previously been unserved. This followed the completion of two Water Supply Schemes projects in the villages of Macambini and Ndulinde in Mandeni Local Municipality. Majodina says the expansion of water and sanitation services to rural and unserved communities is rooted in the historic promise of South Africa’s Constitution and the democratic breakthrough of 1994:
