# Midvaal Local Municipality in Gauteng has launched Women’s Month with an event supporting survivors of gender-based violence. SAPS, healthcare professionals, non-governmental organisations, the local Business Chamber and skills development centre joined the initiative, providing survivors with healthcare advice, motivational support and empowerment opportunities. Mayor Peter Teixeira reaffirmed the municipality’s commitment to ending GBV, saying every woman, child and victim should know support is available. The mayor says the municipality will continue working with stakeholders to prevent GBV and build safer communities.
