# Gauteng Roads and Transport MEC, Kedibone Diale-Tlabela, has strongly condemned the destruction and vandalism of public road infrastructure in Ekurhuleni. Public infrastructure along the R550 Heidelberg and Alberton route was vandalised during a service delivery protest. The department’s spokesperson, Lesiba Mpya, says protesters dug up and destroyed sections of the road near Zonkizizwe and Palm Ridge, forcing authorities to shut the route down:
