# Tshwane mayor Nasiphi Moya and insurer Santam will jointly launch Arbor Month at Unit D Park in Hammanskraal today, under the theme, Greening Tshwane Together. Arbor Month aims to raise awareness about the vital role trees play in the environment, and to encourage the planting of trees to improve communities and fight climate change. The mayor’s spokesperson, Zintle Mahlati, says the metro has pledged to plant 300-thousand trees by April 2027 under its Urban Greening Programme:
