# Buti Manamela has been sworn in as the new Higher Education and Training minister. This comes after Nobuhle Nkabane was removed over allegations of misleading Parliament about ANC-linked appointments to SETA boards. Manamela previously served as deputy minister since 2017, and as the deputy minister in the Presidency from 2014 to 2017. Former KZN premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube is the new deputy minister. Ramaphosa welcomed their appointments, citing their extensive experience in governance and public service:
