# Gauteng Education MEC Lebogang Maile says crime, violence, and vandalism have placed more than four-thousand schools in the province under pressure. Over five years, schools recorded more than four-thousand-600 violent incidents and over four-thousand-100 cases of vandalism. He says CCTV systems were installed in more than 600 schools across the province, as 245 schools are classified as high-risk. Speaking in Johannesburg yesterday, he outlined interventions and warns crime is draining education budgets.
