# The Madlanga Judicial Commission of Inquiry, tasked with investigating allegations of political interference and corruption in the criminal justice system, will not start on September 1st as planned. This is due to issues with the procurement of vital infrastructure by the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development. Commission chairperson Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga says regrettably, a substantial portion of the three-month period at the end of which it is expected to submit an interim report has gone by without the commission having heard a single witness.
