# KwaZulu-Natal disaster management teams have been placed on high alert ahead of severe thunderstorms expected in parts of the province from this afternoon until midnight. The South African Weather Service has issued a level four warning for severe thunderstorms and a level two warning for damaging winds. Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs spokesperson Siboniso Mngadi says the conditions could cause flooding and damage to homes and infrastructure:
