# KwaZulu-Natal has launched its Safer Festive Season Plan. Provincial Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi says operations are underway to protect residents, tourists, and students. The pre-holiday phase focuses on securing matric exam centers, escorting exam materials, and supporting the 16 Days of Activism against gender-based violence. Mkhwanazi warned matriculants against reckless pens down parties. He stressed that police will enforce zero tolerance for lawbreakers throughout the festive season:
