# The KwaZulu-Natal Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs MEC, Thulasizwe Buthelezi, has deployed humanitarian aid after a fire at the Kennedy Road informal settlement in Durban. Last night’s blaze destroyed around 92 homes, displacing 156 residents, including 29 children. Three people suffered minor burns. The department’s Senzelwe Mzila says relief organisations, including the Red Cross Society and Gift of the Givers, provided meals, blankets, and hygiene packs:
