# KwaZulu-Natal Education MEC Sipho Hlomuka condemns the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old Grade 10 learner at Ndengezi Intermediate School. Police say the learner was shot multiple times on the school premises yesterday and was declared dead at the scene. The victim and the alleged shooter, who was also wearing a school uniform, were seen entering the school together before the attack. The suspect fled. Hlomuka says schools must remain safe spaces and has conveyed condolences to the family and school community.
