Joburg’s Public Safety Department frustrated over ballistic delays in EFF councillor’s murder case

# The City of Johannesburg’s Public Safety Department has expressed frustration over delays in the ballistic report related to the killing of EFF councillor Moshe Mphahlele. He was fatally shot in August 2024 during a service delivery protest in Alexandra. It’s still unclear whether the fatal shot came from Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department officers or private security. Mayoral committee member for Safety and Security, Mgcini Tshwaku, also an EFF member, says all firearms were submitted for testing and vowed to keep pushing for justice this case.
