# The Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department have deployed its officers to monitor active ongoing protest action affecting parts of Pimville and Kliptown in Soweto. Police spokesperson, Xolani Fihla says there is total closure to traffic between the Modjaji Street traffic circle and the Union Avenue traffic circle. He says local residents are protesting over prolonged power outages experienced in the area. He added that road users are urged not attempt to force their way through road blockages:
