JMPD denies DA allegations of traffic fine quotas [SOUND]

# The Johannesburg Metro Police Department has responded to allegations by the DA, denying claims of a traffic fine quota system. The DA alleged that each officer has a daily target of 7-thousand-rand in fines and is incetivised to reach these targets with overtime pay. Metro police spokesperson Xolani Fihla stressed that enforcement is based on violations, not numbers. He clarified that officers issue citations to uphold safety and order, not to meet targets:
