# The Madlanga Commission has heard that investigations into killings by police task teams sometimes contradict claims that suspects shot first. KwaZulu-Natal IPID Deputy Director of Investigations Len John says investigators have found cases scene reconstructions which showed deceased suspects had not fired at police. John revealed that 149 people were killed in 77 cases involving KZN task teams over three years:
