# The City of Cape Town’s enforcement agencies arrested 311 suspects for various crimes in the past week, recovered three illegal firearms and seven stolen or hijacked vehicles. A total of 52-thousand-858 fines for traffic and bylaw transgressions were also issued. Mayoral committee member for Safety and Security, JP Smith, says the anti-hijacking unit, established to help curb the hijacking of city-owned vehicles, has had some success:
