# The IFP says it commends president Cyril Ramaphosa for acting on its proposal to establish a commission of inquiry to probe the wide-ranging allegations made by KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi. Minister of Police Senzo Mchunu has been placed on special leave while investigations unfold. The IFP’s national spokesperson, Mkhuleko Hlengwa, told eNCA that this is a matter that cuts to the heart of public trust in the country’s democratic institutions:
