Higher Education deputy minister calls for a review of NSFAS payment schedule to institutions [SOUND]

# Higher Education and Training deputy minister, Yusuf Cassim, has called for a review of the National Student Financial Aid Scheme’s payment schedule to institutions. He handed over written complaints from students at the University of South Africa to the institution’s management yesterday. The complaints are over delayed July’s Personal Care Allowance payments and ongoing data and connectivity challenges. Cassim says this Unisa incident has exposed weaknesses in the current process, with NSFAS transferring funds only after the start of each month:
