# The GOOD Party says there is an urgent need to prioritise safe and functional rail infrastructure in Cape Town. A train from Nonqubela to Cape Town collided with a car at the Philippi rail crossing yesterday morning. GOOD’s secretary general, Brett Herron, says the City of Cape Town and the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa have repeatedly failed to address safety at level crossings. He adds that there is no justification for continued inaction while lives are endangered:
