# The GOOD Party says the establishment of a commission of inquiry into apartheid-era crimes effectively places the Thabo Mbeki administration and the National Prosecuting Authority on trial for miscarriages of justice. The commission will probe whether there were attempts made to influence the police or the NPA not to investigate and prosecute cases identified by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. GOOD’s secretary general, Brett Herron, says the commission will also investigate whether there should be payments for affected families:
