# The GOOD Party is calling on the South African National Taxi Council to take urgent steps to extinguish the taxi war in Cape Town that reignited this week. Three people were shot dead and six wounded in two separate incidents in Philippi East and Khayelitsha on Monday. The violence comes days after the Western Cape government convened a peace summit with the taxi industry associations. GOOD’s secretary general, Brett Herron, says it is possible for the taxi associations to tackle their differences peacefully:
