GOOD Party says Cape Town’s proposed steep tariffs will affect struggling households [SOUND]

# The GOOD Party says the City of Cape Town is stripping struggling households of any meaningful ability to manage or reduce their utility costs. The party says in the 2024/2025 financial year, the metro is projecting a profit of R5.586-billion-rand from electricity sales. The GOOD Party’s, Anton Louw says now, the metro claims to have shifted this contribution to the new cleaning tariff, yet it still expects to rake in 4.7-billion-rand in profit from electricity sales this year alone:
