GOOD Party criticises the WCED for spending over R562-million on office space [SOUND]

# The GOOD Party says the Western Cape government has spent over 562-million-rand on office space for the provincial Education Department, yet it still has no permanent headquarters. The Dorp Street Office Development was originally proposed in 2010 as part of the Cape Town Central City Regeneration Programme. It was intended to relocate the WCED head office from leased to owned office space through a public private partnership. GOOD’s secretary general, Brett Herron, says this project never got off the ground:
