# The General Industries Workers Union of South Africa says it is concerned about recent report of air pollution that caused deaths in South Africa. GIWUSA president, Mametlwe Sebei quotes a report released by Greenpeace Africa and the Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air, that in 2023 alone, 42-thousand South Africans died due to exposure to fine particle pollution. This number include over one-thousand-300 children under the age of five:
