# The George Municipality in the Western Cape is expanding its Indigent Support Programme to provide relief to more households in need. From the first of July, more residents will qualify for support to reduce their water, electricity, refuse removal, and property rates bills. Previously, only households earning up to five-thousand-460-rand per month could receive support. The municipality’s spokesperson, Chantel Edwards-Klose, says the income limit for full support level 1 has increased to six-thousand-rand:
