Gauteng’s Nasi iSpani teacher assistant programme to be revived

# The Gauteng government has secured 27-million-rand in funding to revive premier Panyaza Lesufi’s Nasi iSpani programme. This brings a glimmer of hope to teacher assistants, whose contracts were not renewed in July last due to a lack of funding. This sparked protests. Gauteng Youth Brigade lead protest organiser, Sihle Msizi, says he hopes that preference will be given to the previous beneficiaries, but accepts that some may be excluded due to age.
