# The Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport says it is working with geotechnical specialists to assess the extent of a sinkhole along Hendrik Potgieter Drive near Hillfox Value Centre in Roodepoort. The reported number of sinkholes across the province is estimated to be five-thousand-126. The department’s spokesperson, Lesiba Mpya, says they have implemented a temporary traffic detour and a partial road closure in the affected zone:
