# Gauteng traffic police have raised an alarm over rising crashes around payday weekends. Since Friday, over 20 accidents have been recorded, including fatal, serious, and minor incidents. Gauteng traffic spokesperson Obed Sibasa cited drunk driving, speeding, and reckless driving as key factors. Fatalities occurred across key Johannesburg routes, including the N1, N14, M1 South, and N12, leaving several dead and others critically injured. Sibasa has urged motorists to slow down, avoid drinking and driving, and exercise extra caution on the roads.
