# Gauteng Social Development MEC Faith Mazibuko says she is committed to linking former substance users with skills development and training opportunities, which will empower them to reintegrate into society whilst living productive lives. The MEC recently visited the government-funded Bakae Initiative in Soweto, which has assisted over ten-thousand people since 2022. Mazibuko says her department is working to expand rehabilitation facilities across the province, strengthen recovery efforts and create sustainable livelihoods.
